Hi there, are you alright? Do you need any bags? Would you like any help with packing?

I just thought I'd write a quick post just before I get ready and head off to work. Not an awful lot ended up happening yesterday and so I thought maybe two blog posts in one day was a bit much... In the end, I went food shopping with Mum, then went and bought some storage bags for underneath my bed. I came home, looked at my room, and I honestly had no idea where to begin. So I eventually just tipped virtually everything out and started bagging up. Which might not have been the best move because I gave up half way though and now I'm left with a miniature version of Mount Everest made up of clothes and books in the corner of my room. In all fairness though, the only reason I gave up tidying was because I was getting sick of the shouting from downstairs, every now and again, the 'rents just flip. Never good - because they both have such a short temper.  Thankfully, now I can drive, all I did was jump in my car and then I just went out for the longest drive - up on the hills, down to the beach, then I ended up in Tesco where I bought some cider. Definitely recommend you try this. It's lush. The flavours I tried were Mixed Fruits and Strawberry & Lime but they have a whole variety.

Anyway, back to the main thing I was going to write about ;) Because believe it or not, cider wasn't it. :P I thought I'd give you an insight into my 'wonderful' job seeing as I'm going to be mentioning it so much.

As I said in a previous post, I work in Tesco, on the checkouts.. Now where I live, is a seaside town with a resort called Butlins. Hopefully you know what that is, if not, there are few sites around the UK and we have one of them. Without it, our town would be dead... there would be hardly any jobs for anyone if I'm honest. It's open most of the year, with adult weekends and family breaks over the half term/summer holidays. This means that we get a hellll of a lot of them coming into our shop. Usually drunk, or buying hundreds of pounds worth of alcohol to get drunk. No wonder everyone thinks the English are alcoholics :P But apparently our Tesco store doesn't have the sense to realise that we're going to need more staff available when everyone's down here on holiday and so anyone that IS working, is rushed off their feet trying to serve everyone. Also, now I'm 18 I have to authorise alcohol/ID anyone I think isn't old enough.. and boy is it fun trying to get ID from an entire group of lads. I'd love to say I really enjoy my job but the truth is I'd probably be lying. Yeah it has it's good moments, when you get a nice few customers or get flirted with which brightens up your day. Although honestly? People have the worst shopping behaviours. They walk slow around the aisles with their trolleys, there's screaming children, some of them have no sense of personal hygiene (they're either coughing all over you, licking their fingers before handing you something, or just are generally unclean/smelly), they leave chilled products just on any shelf since they're too lazy to put it back in the refridgerators, they come to the checkout when they haven't even finished all of their shopping so they run all over trying to get more stuff, they won't let the staff pack for them which essentially means they take FOREVER, nobody brings their re-usable bags, they moan about their coupons running out when they have at least a week validity - AND YOU GOT THEM FOR FREE, so stop complaining... nobody has their coupons organised so getting them out is a nightmare, then the customers behind get arsey because they've had to wait another few minutes, and then their in a bad mood with you even after apologising for something that isn't your fault. The list goes on, it's just a vicious circle.

I can't wait for a job when I don't have to ask like a robot and continuously ask the questions 'Hi there, are you alright? Do you need any bags? Would you like any help with packing?' It makes me so happy when customers make the effort to have a conversation, breaks up my day, makes me smile. The day I get a job that I enjoy, that I love going to, will be the best day of my life. And on that note... I'm off to get ready for work at Tesco ;)

I promise a happier blog next time... but some things just need to be said, right? :P

Ciao, have a good day! xo
